| For Hackers | For Hunters |
| Find that next awesome job or project. | Find only hackers your friends recommend. |
| Only see opportunities your network recommends. | Extend your personal network of connections many fold. |
| A non-identifiable method to see opportunities. | See only candidates screened by your personal network. |
|
How it works: You sign up and populate a profile that covers general information about your current availability for a new job or project, and general information common in a recruiting environment such as expected salary and various other items. As you connect with friends and associates, you each complete a brief and private survey of the other. Networks of people within Hack or Hacker operate much like a cross between a paper detailing the navigation of hidden networks and the more widely known Oracle of Bacon, allowing for your personal network to expand dramatically. Additionally, since no person can see how other people rated them, the system allows for both positive and negative feedback -- without causing any professional harm or slander. Once someone decides they are looking for their next rock star, they login to the system and populate a search. The search includes the usual questions a hiring manager would need to be able to answer. Once the search is submitted to the system, analysis occurs in the background. The hiring manager never sees ratings of potential candidates, only a single numerical value depicting how much their personal network would recommend each potential candidate, and ONLY those recommended by their network. And finally, no personally identifiable information is provided to the manager out of the gate. Once the manager selects candidates they are interested in, the candidates are notified of the interest, and given a profile of what their network thinks of the hiring manager and the details of the oppotunity. If the candidate is interested, the manager is then sent contact information for that candidate. |
